Which Software Is Right For You?

If you DO NOT have CAD software:

AViCAD is probably the right solution for you. AViCAD is a powerful CAD engine with an AutoCAD like interface that comes complete with the Mech-Q "front-end" software featured in the Real World CAD videos. This means all of the pipes, pumps, plumbing, duct, structural steel, bolts, nuts, washers, tanks and their respective fittings shown in the Real World CAD videos were made with Mech-Q software. Items that were not made by the Mech-Q "front end" software such as plumbing fixtures, toilet carriers, pipe hangers, boiler housings, ceiling grids and concrete structures were created with the built-in tools in the AViCAD engine. Architectural entities shown in the videos such as walls doors and windows were created with AViCAD's built-in 3-D architectural "front-end" software. All of the tools in the Piping Extra tool bar were designed and tested by us here at Real World CAD.net primarily for the mechanical detailing trade and are included in the AViCAD software package. In short, if you saw it in our videos, it was made with the AViCAD software, including the photo-realistic renderings!

Mech-Q Drop Down Menus

The Mech-Q "front-end" software is probably the right solution for you. The Mech-Q "front-end" software is the same software featured in the Real World CAD videos. The difference is you will be using Mech-Q software in a CAD engine you are already familiar with.  This means that you will be able to make all of the pipes, pumps, plumbing, duct, structural steel, bolts, nuts, washers, tanks and their respective fittings shown in the Real World CAD videos with your existing CAD software. Items that were not made by the Mech-Q "front-end" software such as plumbing fixtures, toilet carriers, pipe hangers, boiler housings, ceiling grids and concrete structures might be supported by your CAD engine's the built-in tools.  All of the tools in the Piping Extra tool bar were designed and tested by us here at Real World CAD.net primarily for the mechanical detailing trade and are included in the Mech-Q software package. In short, if you saw it in our videos, it was made with the Mech-Q "front-end" software.  The only difference is we used the ProgeCAD software engine (AViCAD is the ProgeCAD bundled with Mech-Q).

*AutoCAD LT users MUST purchase CADSTA software which includes Mech-Q. CADSTA adds many features to AutoCAD LT which are found in the full version of AutoCAD. However AutoCAD LT has NO support for 3-D modeling therefore any of the 3-D elements shown in our videos will not be available for AutoCAD LT users.
